| Details: | The water system had been changed from a state regulated water system to a community water system based on population. Because of the new designation, additional sampling requirements were put on the water system. On 5/23/18 the water system collected 5 lead and copper samples. There were three samples that had detections of lead, one of them being over the action level of 15 ppb with a result of 40 ppb. Because of the exceedance, the system was triggered into additional monitoring and testing. Follow up lead and copper samples, water quality parameters and a public notice were distributed. The system has had difficulty collecting the water samples correctly. The three high samples collected in May 2018 were taken from residences that had been vacant. Water was supposed to be collected from frequently used taps and only be stagnant in the pipes between 8-18 hours. The system collected a round of samples on 10/2/18 and all were non detect. Another round of samples were collected February 2019. We are waiting to see the results from these samples. A follow up contact report will be done when the results are received to discuss further action required by the water system. |
