| Details: | Left a voicemail notifying the system of the recent Arsenic test over the MCL. I recommended they check/maintain their treatment system for Arsenic and then perform another test to make sure that the issue is addressed. I also reminded the system that they are on quarterly testing for Arsenic, and that they should address the issue in the near future to avoid their running annual average (RAA) exceeding the MCL. I left my cell phone number for followup. UPDATE 2/26/2025: Spoke with Terry on the phone. Terry stated that they were replacing the filter media for the Arsenic treatment system, and that they would take a confirmation sample when maintenance was complete. Terry also mentioned that the school-district was choosing to use bottled water or alternative water sourced at the school at this time out of an abundance of caution. As the Arsenic level is not over the acute MCL of 35 parts per billion, Lane DW is not issuing a "Do not Drink" order; I explained this to Terry. The district, parents, and students have already been notified of the result over the MCL, and though a public notice is not technically being required by Lane DW program at this time, Terry requested a template for a public notice. I emailed Terry a template letter for an Arsenic MCL, and also educational materials that he could use when communicating with the school district. |
