| Details: | Derek called Lane County DW to ask about a violation notification received in the mail recently; the system did not test for total Haloacetic acids (HAA5) during the seasonal sampling period in 2024 when it was due. I told Derek that in order to correct this violation, the system must test for total Haloacetic Acids during the seasonal sampling period (8/1/2025 to 8/30/2025) this year. As long as the HAA5 sample is collected and tested in that seasonal sampling period, the violation will automatically be returned to compliance in 2026. Derek had also asked where the chemical schedule for these analytes could be found. On the Chemical Schedules page, click "STAGE 2 DBP," which will then display the schedule for HAA5 and TTHM. These samples also need to be collected in a specific location, 2DBP-01 :TIDEWATER DRY KILN. I recommended to the operator that they click on and explore each of the blue highlighted analyte groups on the chemical schedules page, to confirm that they are collecting samples appropriately. This facility has several analytes besides HAA5 that have seasonal sampling periods, specific locations, and frequencies. |
