| Details: | On 2-7-25 I received an alert for a nitrate result of 7.3 mg/l taken on 2-4-25 at EP-A for the wells. The system blends sources to reduce high nitrate levels in the MC Well #1 source (SRC-AA) and has a history of seasonal variations in nitrate (documented in numerous contact reports in the past), but has remained consistently below the MCL of 10 mg/l. I downloaded nitrate results since 2002 and sent a graph of the long-term trends to Matt, noting the seasonal variation, but a steep drop in nitrate levels between 2004-2005 which has generally held steady below 10 mg/l since then. I asked if there were any issues with treatment that may have resulted in the higher nitrate result. Matt emailed 2-10-25 stating that MC#1 started its yearly spike in Nitrates and that the 7.3 result was their confirmation test to verify their in-house readings were accurate. He said they would start blending today (2/10) or tomorrow (2/11). No further action required (other than to begin blending to reduce nitrates). System has been reliably and consistently below the 10 mg/l MCL based on quarterly nitrate sampling since 2005. | ||
