Details: | System inactivated 03.21.2025 system inactivated. 03.17.2025-Coleen informed me via email that she is delaying her first-quarter water testing due to a significant landslide caused by heavy rainfall. The landslide damaged her water and propane lines, and also affected the chlorination system, forcing her to shut off the water supply. Repairs have been made, and water has been resorted, but the chlorination system has not been repaired. Due to the slides the trail is closed and there are not customers at the lodge. The lodge is not expecting customers until late spring or summer. Since there are no customers a boil advisory is not required. To prevent future issues with the treatment system, the lodge owner is planning to move the chlorination treatment shed to a different location, closer to the source. The water system is also planning to replace the existing storage tank with a 1,500-gallon tank and replace the Dosatron chemical feed pump with a different unit. Next steps: - Based on the population served, the system will be inactivated. Coleen was instructed to contact DWS to reactivate the system once the lodge is ready to reopen. - Guidance was provided for shock chlorination, best management practices for line repairs and public notification in events where there is a total loss of system pressure. - A boil water advisory template due to loss of system pressure was provided via email. - The operator was advised to contact DWS prior to making modification to the system. However, no plan review is required for OVS systems. |
