| Details: | LCR Excursion 04.09.2025 - I emailed the DRC requesting an update on the LCR excursion. The DRC discussed the ongoing issues with the president of the association. It appears a significant contributing factor to the recent LCR excursion has to do with the separation of duties between the person treating the water and the individual responsible for readings and paperwork. This compartmentalization seems to hinder communication and delays the identification of issues beyond turbidity, which Paul handles promptly. While the cost of a dedicated full-time operator to manage all aspects is a challenge, solutions are being explored. The facility will be increasing its soda ash feed as a first step. The DRC is also working with them to maintain a slightly higher bleach residual to consistently meet CT requirements (Concentration x Time). The DRC has previously discussed the importance of maintaining stable parameters with Paul, as there's a tendency to operate with lower levels. Next steps: The DRC will continue to emphasize the need to keep all operational parameters at optimal levels, ensuring they don't drop below 7.2 pH, which will negatively impact alkalinity. |
