Details: | TTHM levels in the April 2025 routine samples were elevated. I called and left a message asking for additional information and letting Ryan know that if the OEL is exceeded an operational evaluation will need to be submitted. Ryan called back today after the initial results were received. OELs at three locations were exceeded. I provided the operational evaluation form and instructed the system to investigate and return the completed form within 90 days. 4/16/25 I had a discussion with the plant (Tim & Wade), which had fouling on their membranes and were using a new CIP process. The operator that did the CIP on March 25th brought the membranes that were cleaned back online without enough flushing and release a large amount of acetic acid into the system. This greatly increased the amount of DBP formation. The City of Gladstone recorded the majority of it in their March 27th samples and DBP levels were lower in Oak Lodges samples two weeks later. NCCWC is changing their CIP procedure to make sure enough flushing happens before membranes are brought back online. 4/17/25 |
