Details: | Justin had called to inform me that their DBP levels were elevated for Q1 2025. He had communicated with the plant (NCCWC), where some issues were occurring but had not yet pinpointed the cause. I had a discussion with the plant (Tim & Wade), which had fouling on their membranes and were using a new CIP process. The operator that did the CIP on March 25th brought the membranes that were cleaned back online without enough flushing and release a large amount of acetic acid into the system. This greatly increased the amount of DBP formation. The City of Gladstone recorded the majority of it in their March 27th samples and DBP levels were lower in Oak Lodges samples two weeks later. NCCWC is changing their CIP procedure to make sure enough flushing happens before membranes are brought back online. 4/17/25 |
