| Details: | This evening, I received information that the Rowena wildfire may have impacted the Discovery Center's water system. I spoke with the system operator, who confirmed that the well and pump house were visually inspected and appeared to be intact. Although the site has lost power, the reservoir currently holds approximately 350,000 gallons of water, and the system has not experienced any loss of pressure. Update 6/12/25: Confirmation this morning that the reservoir stopped draining at 14 ft., so there was no loss of pressure; power is restored (not generator power); the well is now operating, and the reservoir is slowly gaining. One house burned down. The Discovery Center was saved but may have damage; a structural assessment will be happening today. |
