| Details: | Emailed operator regarding the routine Arsenic sample over twice the MCL. Joshlynn stated that the maintenance staff at the facility may have collected the sample from the wrong location I instructed the operator to confirm whether or not the original sample came from the correct location AFTER the point of use(POU) filter at the sampling location. Regardless, an additional Arsenic sample should be taken at the correct sampling location to confirm whether or not there is an issue with the POU filter. The filter media for Arsenic POU systems can need replacement as often as every six months. If the confirmation sample also has Arsenic results over the MCL, then the tenant/customer at that sampling site should not drink the water until the POU filter media is replaced. If the running annual average at any of the sites exceeds the MCL, then the system may be required to explore other Arsenic treatment options or issue a "Do Not Drink" order. |
