Details:
12.16.2025 - I discussed the required compliance steps from the lead and copper action level exceedance letter with the operator (Jason). Since the system is currently supplanting its primary source with water from the CBNB water system, he was instructed to collect two rounds of entry point water quality parameters (WQPs) and one round of lead and copper samples exclusively from the primary source. To ensure the samples represent only the well water and not the mixed supply, the collection point must be on the well water line before it enters the storage tanks and mixed with the supplementary CBNB water. The system was also advised to discontinue the addition of calcium carbonate prior to sampling.

Next steps:
- On January 7, 2025, the operator will collect one round of WQPs and one round of lead and copper at the site prior to the water mixing in the storage tank.

- One January 27, 2025, the operator will collect their 2nd round of WQPs at the site prior to the water mixing in the storage tank.

- Distribution WQPs will not be collected at this time. The operator is advised to wait until they are no longer hauling water from CBNB

12.12.2025 - Update provided by operator: The system has plans to drill a new well. The operator (Jason) is planning to hand off operator duties to another volunteer. Because of the influence of the CBNB water in their tanks, recommended dropping the notion of abandoning the calcium carbonate to increase pH levels, get the WQPs work done and do lead and copper sampling. Doing so will satisfy some of the requirements specified in the lead and copper exceedance letter. Next steps: consult with DWS to confirm a logical path to move forward.

07.16.2025 - Reviewed details of 7/10/25 letter detailing requirements after a lead/copper Action Level has been exceeded. Advised Jason to review a hard copy of the letter sent to the school as soon as practical and call with questions to clarify. Many details in the letter to understand.
