Details: | Sample 25080284-01C-V will be struck from SDWIS and Data Online. City of Prineville’s sample 25080284-01C-V was erroneously marked as a compliance sample from entry point EP-G when in fact it was taken from an exploratory well that was not connect to the city’s distribution system. The alert generated because of the elevated TETRACHLOROETHYLENE (PCE) in this sample should also be because it isn’t associated with a drinking water system sample. Prineville’s confirmation sample for PCE from this exploratory well should also be excluded from Prineville’s compliance record. The elevated PCE in this sample may have been introduced by the temporary/portable pump used to collect the sample. Because these sample results were not compliance related—or at all representative of the water being served to the public--the city will not need a confirmation sample for the PCE, and PCE and vinyl chloride will not need to be monitored quarterly at SRC-KH. The existing VOC schedules for EP-G should remain as they were. Additionally, informed water system that source assessment sample collected on August 11, 2025 was total coliform positive (no E. coli) at SRC-KH WELL #11 DT8 (WELL #11 DT8). If a groundwater (GW) source sample is total coliform positive only (E. coli absent), no immediate action is required. Future total coliform positive GW source samples will be tracked, and if there is a pattern or series of positives, additional measures may be required, such maintaining the monthly frequency of source assessment monitoring rather than eventually reducing monitoring to annually. |
