| Details: | Madras’ routine coliform sample collected 8/12/2025 tested positive for total coliform (and negative/absent for E. coli). Madras collected three repeat samples on 8/14/2025, one of which also tested positive for total coliform (and negative/absent for E. coli). Well #3 was not in use during this period; therefore, it was not tested. Madras was receiving purchased water from supplier DESCHUTES VALLEY WATER DIST (00501) at the time, though, so a sample was collected from the supplier’s common header, which tested absent for coliform. The combination of total and repeat coliform results triggered the requirement for Madras to complete a level 1 coliform investigation. The city completed the investigation and filed their report on 8/27/2025, concluding that the sample was associated with a 2” line with low usage. The line was flushed and retested and coliform were absent. |
