Details: I received a voice mail from Kody Dalton about a total coliform positive (no E. coli) sample taken at the 6th and Williams site yesterday (10/6). I called Kody back and instructed him to take 3 repeat samples to the lab tomorrow – with one sample at the original sample location (6th and Williams), one within 5 connections upstream of the 6th and Williams site and one within 5 connections downstream. After the phone call, I also emailed Kody a copy of their coliform sample plan we had received in 2023 and said that unless the sample plan had been updated, he should use the 3 repeat sample sites in the plan and to be sure to mark them as “repeat” samples.

I said that since no wells were in operation, generally they do not need to take a triggered source assessment sample (a sample prior to the disinfection injection and marked “Triggered” and source “Assessment”), but a sample schedule will likely be automatically generated to include that sampling, so he should discuss this sampling with their regulator (Nicole Alfafara who was cc'd on the email). I sent him the following links to the sample schedules that will show up once the positive result has posted to our website.

Action needed - system to take 3 repeat samples on 10/7/25 and follow up with Nicole Alfafara.
