| Details: | The system proactively contacted DWS staff with concerns regarding disinfection performance, specifically maintaining chlorine residual and meeting CT. The system requested guidance on the steps required should the residual fall below 0.2 mg/L at the EP and/or CT not met, noting concerns that such an event could occur on 10/29/2025 DWS staff provided the system with a Tier 2 PN template and a list of key operational facts/data to collect and track (EP residual, DIST residuals, plant flow, tank levels, duration under 0.2 mg/L, instances of ND residuals, CT achieved/required, etc.) to support evaluation of whether a boil water/Tier 1 Notice would be warranted. Because a potential boil would impact restaurants and other commercial facilities, the County Health Department was also notified. The system was provided the Foodborne Illness Prevention Program Emergency Response Fact Sheet for Licensed Facilities handout to support coordination with affected establishments if a boil notice became necessary. On 10/29/2025, the system reported an EP residual greater than 0.3 mg/L. Consequently, no further action is required at this time. During preparation for the potential disinfection event, the system and DWS staff also reevaluated CT calculations and the existing tracer study. Based on this review, DWS staff recommends that the system utilize a contact time (Tââ) of 80 minutes, as identified in the 2018 Tracer Study and referenced in the most recent WSS. |
