| Details: | TG tested TC positive on 11.12.2025 Repeat samples collected on November 12, 2025, tested negative for bacterial contamination, but the TG sample tested positive for TG. No corrective action required at this time. Next steps: The operator was advised to consider making in the near future, the necessary upgrades to the system, in order to provide adequate contact time to achieve 4-log viral inactivation. Additionally, the system should consider assessing whether the ground is providing enough natural filtration to remove surface water organisms. The level of natural filtration offered by the ground depends on the distance to surface water and aquifer material. Our hydrogeologist recommended to collect and analyze aerobic spore counts in both the river water and the water collected from the raw water sample tap. Comparing the spore counts between the river and the well, will provide an indicator of the physical removal efficiency of the natural filtration process. The operator informed me that they are planning to rehabilitate Well No. 1. Next steps: The operator was advised to contact our regional plan review engineer to initiate plan review process for the new source. It is important to note that this source is less than 20 ft away from the current water source. Both sources are located in a floodplain. |
