| Details: | On January 6, 2026, I received an alert for 14 excursions which occurred in November 2025. During the last six-month period (July 1 – Dec 31, 2025), Yamhill did not meet the required alkalinity of 55 mg/l on 14 days between November 14th and November 30th, 2025. During this time the alkalinity at the entry point to the distribution system fluctuated between a low of 52 mg/l on Nov 23rd and 25th to a high of 54 mg/l on 17th, 19th, and 28th with no data reported on the other 9 days in between, resulting 9 more excursions. pH during that time remained above 7.6 (well above the minimum pH of 7.2). Treatment was restored on November 28th to meet the required minimum alkalinity of 7.5. I spoke to Darrel Lockard (treatment DRC) on the phone regarding the excursions and next steps and followed up with an email to Kyle Adams that day summarizing the excursions and typical next steps that must be taken. Having conducted a water system survey on November 13, 2025, I had taken a photo of their bench sheet with recorded alkalinity for both finished water and raw water and noticed that they had alkalinity data for every day. I requested the additional data for the remainder of the month and, let Kyle know that if daily measurements were collected in the same manner and location as compliance monitoring, to submit a revised reporting form for the month of November with the additional data to fill in some of the days without reported data. A photo of the bench sheet was received from Kyle on Thursday (1/8/25), which showed that the alkalinity ranged from 56 mg/l to 58 mg/l for the same period (Nov 23 - Nov 30th) and that it appeared that the raw water alkalinity had mistakenly been written down on the reporting form, rather than the finished water alkalinity. Further action may be needed pending a revised report for November 2025. | ||
