| Details: | The system was contacted regarding a recent compliant received by Lane County DW program. A resident of the system contacted Lane DW via phone on 1/21/2026, stating that they had tested Arsenic at their home and gotten results over eight times the MCL. The complaintant also told Lane DW program that they believed the system operator may not be qualified to manage the system, and that the owner group/board may not be maintaining the Arsenic treatment system as required. I also notified the system that Arsenic results did not appear to have been submitted for the last quarter of 2025. The system contact, Mary, stated that the Arsenic treatment system had been compromised by a blockage of sand/particles over a month prior, and that replacement media had not yet arrived. Given the description by the contact, it is possible that the water in this system is not being treated for Arsenic properly. I recommended that the system test the water for Arsenic immediately, and to contract a qualified operator immediately. | ||
