| Details: | On January 30, Mike Ruark informed me via email that he was collaborating with the circuit rider to address issues related to water system corrosivity. The school was conducting lead testing in compliance with Oregon Department of Education requirements. A total of seventy-six fixtures were tested, nine of which exceeded the action level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). The school has replaced the nine affected fixtures and installed point-of-use filtration. Subsequent testing indicated that seven of the nine replaced fixtures now fall below the action level. The replaced fixtures have been shut off until remediation and follow-up testing are completed. Additionally, the school district is considering installing a calcite contactor to stabilize the water’s pH. The school currently operates a reverse osmosis (RO) system. Mike was advised to submit a plan review prior to implementing any new treatment measures for the water system. |
