| Details: | A resident of the water system contacted Lane County DW program and the State DW program to complain about an ongoing Arsenic hazard at this system. According to the caller, who wished to remain anonymous, recent Arsenic samples submitted by the system were over five times the MCL. The State DW program never received the Arsenic test results from the aforementioned water samples; it is possible that the system is not submitting these samples to the lab associated with the PWSID or system name. According to the caller, the current operator is not knowledgeable enough to properly manage the system. The caller stated that in early January the operator ran the well too long, which lowered the water level and caused the well to pump water with sand/sediment in it. That sand/sediment then clogged the Arsenic treatment media. No replacement Arsenic media was available on-site, so more was ordered, however residents were not promptly informed of the issue with the Arsenic treatment system. According to the caller, for almost two months the system has been pumping/storing water contaminated with high Arsenic levels. The current operator also does not have their SWS registered with the State or the system. The caller believes that members of the board of residents/ Co-op group are not concerned with the Arsenic levels, and that appropriate action will not be taken. Lane DW program called/emailed/voicemailed the system reminding them of Arsenic sampling and treatment requirements for the system, but as of yet no Arsenic samples have been submitted since July of 2025. | ||
