| Details: | Emailed DRC with the following message: Good morning Lance, I am emailing you to update you to why the water system received some violations. The two violations I am speaking about are due to late reporting of the SOC and VOC tests. My records show you sampled SOC and VOC on December 3, 2025 but the violation is because results were received late. How it works... EPA requires water systems to submit specified water samples anytime between a select monitoring period. The monitoring period I am speaking of is January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2025. BUT the latest date allowed for the results to be reported to the Drinking Water Program is by no later than January 10, 2026 or 10 days after the monitoring period ended. Unfortunately, the results from your tests were received late on January 16, 2026. I believe the lab was overloaded with last minute tests from many water systems nationwide. To ensure the results are received in time, I recommend you conduct future sampling at an earlier month, or no later than October. Also, these violations will be RTC'd when they receive the next round of SOC and VOC samples. Sincerely, Ryan Zastrow, REHS Union County Environmental Health The Center for Human Development, Inc. www.chdinc.org/environmental-health |
