Details: | Bear Creek mobile home park water system was tested for lead and copper content and it was found to have exceed the lead action level (AL) of 0.015 mg/L. The results were received by the state on July 11th of 2018 and notice of exceeding the AL was given to the water system on December 3rd, 2018. Part of the requirement of this notice was that the water system needed to receive a recommendation from a water system engineer for an optimal corrosion control treatment. This recommendation will only have to be followed if other methods of reducing the lead content fail. After researching the system and the constituents of their source water it was determined that adding soda ash to the source water would be the most effective method of controlling corrosion throughout the water system. Soda ash can be added shortly after the well head using an off the shelf soda ash package similar to the J-PRO-22+15. |
