| Details: | I called Walt to gather additional information necessary to accept the action plan he submitted according to the compliance agreement signed in January 2019. Walt's written plan identified a preferred treatment option and some additional tasks necessary before a final decision can be made but didn't provide dates when any of the tasks would be completed. I asked Walt a series of questions and determined he should have results of arsenic “species” testing by the end of the month. Those test results will demonstrate whether ion exchange will be an effective arsenic treatment and we agreed 60 to 90 days after that should be sufficient to determine the type of arsenic treatment to be installed and which contractor/vendor he’ll use for installation. Once he signs a contract he should be able to provide a construction schedule in 60 days or less. This process has included a number of setbacks and Walt mentioned he is back to using the original well at the system despite two other wells having been constructed more recently because these newer wells suffer from additional forms of contamination. |
