| Details: | The public health duty officer notified me on Saturday August 3rd around 1:30 that 2500 gallons of diluted fire retardant had spilled into Canyon Creek about 0.75 miles upstream of the intake for the City of Canyonville water treatment plant. There is a large fire in their watershed currently. The PH duty officer informed me that the City had already shut down their intake. I left a voicemail for Matt, the operator indicated as the after-hours contact, to contact me if he had any questions. He did not call. I later heard that the city began using water from the intake again at 6 am Sunday August 4th. The retardant is known to have phosphates and ammonium nitrate and other trade secret ingredients. | ||
