Details: Daniel reports that the new treatment plant is installed, but both UV units had a defective part, so they are waiting on those new parts. The slow sand filters are currently ripening. All should be ready to go when the contractor returns within a couple weeks. The online turbidimeter and chlorimeter are working. Daniel hopes to replace his hand-held pH and temperature meter. I asked him how they intend to calibrate the online turbidimeter; he's hoping their DRC will help with that. And as for that, they need to create the DRC contract and send in a signed copy along with the DRC designation form. He suggested they could approve that at the next Bridge WD board meeting in early Sept. I emailed him a link to our example DRC contract and the designation form. I will need to develop a new monthly reporting form to match the slow sand & UV treatment.

Daniel says they plan to issue a public notice in September after the construction is complete.

Update 8/30/19: Their engineer Rob Henry says the water is now running through the slow sand filters. They need coliform sample results to complete the plan review requirements for the filter.

Update 9/5/19: Daniel Horner reports they are still waiting on replacement parts for the UV. So I advised him to continue to use the old monthly treatment form so they can demonstrate that the chlorine is meeting CT. He can switch to the new form when the UV is up and running. At that point, the only requirement for chlorine is that it will have to be at least 0.2 mg/L at the entry point, recorded daily on the form. Reminded him to get the DRC contract done. He hopes to have it ready by the Board meeting on 9/9/19.
