| Details: | I reached out to the system contact, Raymond Fordcye, but wasn't able to reach him. Voicemail was not set up. I sent a text message explaining that the August 26th routine had come back positive for total coliform. I reminded the system operator that a triggered source sample from the well head and three repeat samples from distribution would be needed in 24 hours. I then called the farm and reached the son of the system contact, Graham Fordyce. I explained the situation and he knew the appropriate response. He asked if any other neighboring wells were also drawing positive results from the ground. The system contact is concerned that the well is drawing from a contaminated source water. I stated that I only deal with Oregon Department of Agriculture: Food Safety licensed facilities, but that I had not had any other positive samples of late. We discussed the findings of the recent level 2 investigation and water system survey. I identified the need to secure the vent hole of the well and secure the sanitary seal at the well head. |
