| Details: | The water system has received a 10 point violation for August for not maintaining a minimum chlorine residual 0.5 mg/L to meet their 4-log disinfection requirements per recent plan review. I talked with the water system contact, Alan Hoefflinger, this AM regarding the chlorine concentration be recorded below the required 4-log minimum in August. He has apparently been trying to keep the chlorine residual concentration as low as possible due resident complaints of chlorine task and odor in the Mobile Home Park. It sounds like he has been struggling to get the right concentration in the chlorine mix tank. I offered him technical assistance and potential site visit but he did not feel it was needed. I told him to aim high on the chlorine concentration and keep residual above the water system's 4-log minimum of 0.5 mg/L. He indicated he has been struggling with the concentration so far this month as well but felt he was close to getting it right. I indicated to Alan that he will need to post public notice with violation. The water system likely will rack up a second 10 point violation for month of September. | ||
