Details: | 9/25/19 - Operator called and explained if he started buying ice and using a soda setup not using the well water if he wouldn't have to hook up to city water. I explained that not providing water to the public could deactivate the system from being a public water system but ODA still knows there is confirmed source E.coli so he would still have to correct the problem since the water is being used for the employee toilet room, hand wash sink and three compartment sink. 10/10/19 - Called the operator to ask about progress. He stated that he called the city of Albany to discuss connecting to city water and was told it would be about $30,000 just to hook up and then he would still have to pay to run a line from the store to the city connection, which is not feasible financially at this time. He is researching bringing in hauled water at this time. I reminder him that we are only 10 days away from the due date in the Confirmed E.coli source letter. He stated he may need an extension but would call me back within a few days to discuss specific plans for what he will end up doing and a timeframe for completion. 10/23/19 - Operator e-maiedl me a compliance agreement; "I have ordered a 1000 gallon tank, which should take about 7-10 days to arrive. Spoke to the plumber and have researched water delivery. I'm hoping to have the whole project completed within the next 2-3 weeks." 10/30/19 - Spoke with operator that plan review would be required for the major system modifications, moving to a hauled water system. A name and contact number was provided for a regional engineer to start the process. The operator agreed to contact Zach Golik. I explained to him not to begin installing the hauled water system until a conditional plan review approval is received. I also provided him the hauled water guidelines. |
