Details: | Their November DBP levels are again high. This is the first quarterly sample result after the original 8/29/2019 exceedance (for TTHM). They are collecting the quarterly samples at both of the original IDSE locations- 62112 DOUBLE EAGLE RD and 93621 LINKS LANE. NOTE: All the residents have a 1000-gal holding tank on their individual properties. For the November sample at Double Eagle Rd, they switched to collecting the sample before the customer's meter (at a "clean-out port"), to avoid the complicating issue of the extra holding tank on their property. But at the Links Lane location, no similar tap was available, so the November Links Lane location was still collected after the water had passed through the 1000-gal holding tank at that residence (after the meter). The CCE board will be contacting the Circuit Rider for assistance in troubleshooting this issue. The board's plan of action is to test the DBP levels at various locations in the system - as the water arrives from Coos Bay North Bend, after filtration and chlorination but before the regular storage tanks, and at the entry point to the distribution system. They normally maintain a residual at the EP of ~1.0 mg/L. It was suggested they also test the TOC levels as the water arrives from CBNB. They also mentioned that the storage tanks had never been cleaned out since they switched from the well sources, and there is some brown sludge in the bottom, leftover from that time. It might be good to clean those tanks out to eliminate that variable. There is no violation until the annual average of 4 quarterly results exceeds the MCL. |
