| Details: | SUMMARY: Inspected treatment system DETAILS: Visited system with Dave Bussen (Douglas Co. Environmental Health) in response to a residents complaint of cloudy water. Recent high turbidity in N. Umpqua R, was the cause. System has cartridge filters (un-approved for Giardia removel) and hypochlorination. Turbidity measurements are not taken on site, but samples are taken and measured daily by staff of the Glide Water Asssociation, who alert manager if turbidity exceeds 0.5 NTU. ACTION NEEDED: Write letter encouraging owner to obtain approved bag filter, with perhaps two ( 20 and 5-micron) pre-filters. Continue regular monitoring of chlorine residual and overall system performance. | ||
