Details: | SUMMARY: Cascade Ranch turned in a routine arsenic sample with a result of 260 ppb, violating the MCL. DETAILS: 4/28/06 - I called Nielson Laboratories and verified that this result is correct. I think I spoke with George Waun concerning the appropriate plan of action fo rthis situation. George said to ask the system to do a resample and quarterly sampling for the next year. The system will have to post notice, which George will provide. This system does have permanganante and greensand filtration for arsenic removal SDWIS does not indicate any water treatment and a source information change has been submitted. I called and left a message with Chuck on his home phone to discuss the possible reason for failure of the arsenic removal system and to see if we can resove the situation. 4/28/06 Chuck called me back. He was having a problem with his filtration system last week but has since had the problem repaired. He ran his own arsenic test with a result of 10 ppb after the repairs were completed. He will submit another sample to Nielson to verify that the problem is resolved. ACTION NEEDED: Chuck needs to turn in a new arsenic sample. |
