Details: | SUMMARY: Interrupted Water Service on 5/19/06 DETAILS: On 5/25/06, I called and spoke with Dan Corr. Dan informed me the water system ran out of water last Friday and he wanted some technical assistance on how to correct the problem. The spring collection box was found empty so Dan had a person route out the intake perforated pipe to the box for about four feet. Dan thinks the intake pipe has collapsed or is clogged with roots, thus not allowing for the box to fill. Dan said the source water now seems to flow under the box. A temporary vertical pipe has been installed to capture the spring water source and water is being pumped to the box. So far, that is keeping the collection box full. Dan asked about activating the other two existing wells (1974 and 1995) on the property. I advised Dan our engineer and geologist would need to look at the well reports to determine construction details. I mentioned before using either well, plan review materials, etc., will be required and must be submitted to our office. Dan said he has hired Paul Christianson Well Drilling to inspect the two existing wells. I advised Dan to collect a couple special coliform samples and have them tested. Also, I told Dan to make sure and maintain the proper chlorine residual in the distribution system. Dan will keep me informed of the situation. |
