| Details: | SUMMARY: TC Positive Alert Response DETAILS: Was notified by Magic Valley Lab that the routine sample collected 9/6/06 tested present for total coliform, absent for fecal coliform/E. Coli. Called Cody. I asked if he measured a chlorine residual in the sample. He was unaware the sample had failed. Learned the chlorination pump had been losing its prime repeatedly and chlorination was discontinued about three months ago. That seems to have helped with the brown water/iron bacteria problem, so Cody would prefer not to chlorinate if possible. I told him that to do so the system would need to consistently meet the total coliform standard. Cody will collect four repeat samples early Wednesday so they can be picked up by the lab in Baker City. ACTION NEEDED: PWS to collect four repeat samples. Further action will be based on those results. | ||
