Details: | Dan Vaage reached out to Troy via email and suggested the following operational changes: •Limit organic intake at the raw water source, this may mean including logic to your SCADA that only allows the raw water pump to turn on at lower NTU readings, or reconfiguring the physical intake to avoid the “alder tea” effect •Use as low of a Cl concentration as possible and still make CT •Use as low of a pH as possible, this also allows your Cl to be more effective, also DBP forms faster at elevated pH •Decrease your contact time, may mean lowering the reservoir level or injecting Cl before the reservoir instead of before the clearwell •Calculate your CT and dose Cl as required to meet that CT based on water tems – warmer temperature water requires much less CT than cooler temps Circuit Rider to assist as needed if necessary. |
