| Details: | SUMMARY: Phthalates Detection 7/11/2006 DETAILS: I received an alert for a di(2-ethylhexyl)-phthalates detection of 0.0018 mg/L at the City of Coquille. The Coquille River was in use at the time of this detection. I spoke with John Higgins about the detection and notified him the City must now begin quarterly sampling for this contaminant. John will voluntarily collect a raw source sample and a confirmation sample at the entry point to determine if the detection is a source water problem or related to plant piping. John will continue with quarterly sampling for 1 year to assure the concentration of the phthalates is not increasing. I faxed a health effects fact sheet on this contaminant to John Higgins on 10/5/06. The detection is very low and John is not aware of any problems in particular that would cause the detection. ACTION NEEDED: Notify the DEQ of the detection. Update sdwis to show quarterly schedule. | ||
