| Details: | SUMMARY: Tier 2 violation - treatment technique for turbidity greater than 0.3 DETAILS: John Higgins called on 11/9/06 to report that the City of Coquille exceeded the turbidity MCL due to >5% of turbidity readings >0.3 NTU for the month of October 2006. I spoke with John on 11/13/06 and confirmed that readings were reported on 10/11, 10/13, 10/19 and 10/30 at values as high as 0.42 NTU. Given this treatment techniqueviolation/turbidity MCL exceednace, a tier 2 public notice is required. John has the notice and will issue it after confirming the readings with Tim Ellis and Ray Doan. The system switched water sources on 11/3 from the Coquille River to Rink Creek which is considerably lower in turbidity and color this time of year. ACTION NEEDED: Await copy of the public notice. | ||
