Details: | SUMMARY: Options and recommendations to repair a Redwood tank DETAILS: The district has a large Redwood tank approximately 100000 gallons with major leaks. HBH recommendations submitted October 25 2006 include the following: Dive Contractors – Mobilization and Video inspection 1200.00 labor, 400.00 per hour, Geomembrane -Material cost 13500.00 installation 8000.00, District personnel repair – Material cost, labor rates and temporary storage tank rental. ACTIONS PERFORMED Follow up discussions with Jim Naugle and Myles indicate that the recommendations were brought up in the board meeting but a local tank expert was considered for the work and the work would be done some time later in the year when the weather permits sue to a large piece of equipment used by the contractor. Myles indicated the tank was in need of a new roof. This was information not previously disclosed and accordingly a major consideration in choosing the contractor to effect the leak repairs I mentioned. I would like to contract the operator regarding other issues noted on the paper work from the DWP and that we should set up an appointment to meet once I have talked with the operator. ACTION NEEDED: The Circuit Rider Program with follow up on the Districts decision and offer any assistance if requested. |
