| Details: | SUMMARY: 5 Routines for December Positive for Total Coliform. DETAILS: I received an alert for 5 positive total coliform routine samples collected from the Riverside Inn 12/2-21/2006. I contacted Valerie Smith today. She is still unsure of what the cause for the coliform is. She thinks the person she hired to shock chlorinate the well did not complete the process correctly. They re-shock chlorinated the system on 12/25 while the restaurant was closed. I instructed her to keep public notice posted a the restaurant and collect the required 5 routine samples in January. She will collect them one at a time to see if the 2nd shock treatment was effective. We also discussed continuous disinfection options including UV light. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of routine sampling in January 2007 and follow-up as necessary. | ||
