| Details: | SUMMARY: 3 total coliform positive routine samples, 1 total/fecal positive DETAILS: I received an alert for 3 total coliform positive repeat samples (routine site in distribution, well, distribution) and 1 total/fecal positive (distribution) taken on 1/8/07. I spoke with Randy Reitz with Oregon Water Services, who took the samples, on 1/9/07 and he said he didnt know what the problem was but that there was some standing water near the well due to recent rains. I checked the well report and the well is old (1971) with an inadequate casing seal depth. Randy said he would shock chlorinate, flush, and take follow-up samples when he determines there is no chlorine left in the system. I recommended he sample the four locations again. I spoke with Kevin Hunt on 1/9/07 and told him to issue Tier 1 Boil Water Public Notice within 24 hours and to send a copy to me within 10 days. We also discussed the shock chlorination and follow-up sampling procedures. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of the follow-up samples and copy of public notice. | ||
