| Details: | DWS and City of Salem are working together to set alkalinity minimum in the distribution system (DIST-A). DWS proposes to lower the alkalinity minimum for DIST-A from 20 mg/L to 15 mg/L based on past data. DWS will wait to set the alkalinity minimum for EP-A Aldersgate after City of Salem installs new ozone treatment in 2021 and is on 2-6 month rounds of LCR monitoring. DWS will set the alkalinity minimum after receiving and reviewing data. UPDATE 3/30/2020: Salem Public Works will begin reporting the new alk minimum of 15 mg/L in DIST-A starting April 1, 2020. |
