Details: SUMMARY: Chlorine contact time tracer study preview DETAILS: ACTIONS PERFORMED: I visited system 12.6.06 to evaluate chlorination and storage system. PWS has a 3000 Gallon Steel Reservoir that provides contact time. The inlet and outlet are located on the same end of the reservoir, most likely creating short circuiting in reservoir and inadequate chlorine contact time under demand. Mr Lamb intends to install a flow meter on the reservoir effluent line to measure flow. The park irrigation system is separate piping –unchlorinated so those flows will not impact the study. I discussed the tracer study process and possible impact of high chlorine residuals for a day or so after study. ACTION NEEDED: Conduct tracer study after flow meter is installed and daily demands recorded in order to base flow for tracer study. The study will most likely be conducted in later winter-spring 2007.
