| Details: | SUMMARY: Backwashing of Filters DETAILS: BACKGROUND: MCL violation for Turbidity has been the issue since April 2005. Media replacement has not corrected the problem. ACTIONS PERFORMED: The plants turbidity equipment has been calibrated. The calibration however has not corrected the problems it appears that want the operator has recognized as the carry over to the filters and the poor performance by the filters is the issue. The operator claims that shortly after the media was replaced they began seeing higher turbidity. No amount of slowing the plant down has helped especially during this time of the year. The System had no funds for major improvements. It is almost impossible to fix bad media. I will implement a filter aid polymer my next visit as a possible stop gap.
