| Details: | SUMMARY: Concern over Septic Systems in DWSA DETAILS: A call came into DEQ SW Region office from a private citizen who was concerned that his neighbor might be improperly disposing chemicals into a septic/grey water system. Concerned citizen wanted to know what could be done to protect their own private well. Therefore, Gary called our office. I told Gary that we dont have jurisdiction over such issues but after reviewing the location of the activity it was determined that the septic/grey water system was probably located inside the Drinking Water Source Area for Vida-Lea. An informational letter regarding the issue was drafted and sent to Vida-Lea which suggested that they may wish to pursue an outreach effort regarding proper septic system practices. Two septic system brochures were included as examples. ACTION NEEDED: No further action needed. | ||
