Details: | SUMMARY: Alert response for multiple TC+ samples in 2005 DETAILS: This system experienced several positive test results for total coliform from July 2005 to January 2006. There were no positive E. coli test results. A Public Notice for unresolved coliform was issued in August, 2005. The lab results for many of these tests were not submitted to the state, so the system became a SNC for TCR monitoring. On January 9, 2007, the state received a whole bunch of old test results from this system from that time period. The results show that some repeats were TC+, but there were not enough repeat samples taken. So there was a violation. However, there have now been 12 months of good results. I called Eric Sather and Don Edwards to find out what the problem was and why it went away. They said that they thought it was just a warm weather problem, and it went away on its own because they are not doing anything differently now. Eric is collecting all the samples from the well head. I told Don that he needs to get some routines from the distribution system to show what the people are drinking, as in after the reservoir. He should go by his coliform sampling plan. ACTION NEEDED: System needs to monitor coliform in the distribution system. System also needs to issue a notice of coliform resolution. I told Eric that this could be done in the CCR for 2006. |
