| Details: | SUMMARY: Options and recommendations to repair a redwood tank DETAILS: The district has a large redwood tank approximately 100,000 gals with major leaks. Jim Naugle called to request assistance from the circuit rider program for recommendations on methods to repair the storage tank. A 2-page letter was forwarded discussing issues regarding 3 approaches. Recommendations as follows. 1. Dive contractors- mobilization and video inspection $1,200 labor $400/hr. 2. Geomembrane- material cost $13,000 installation $8,000 3. District personnel repair- material cost, labor rates and temporary storage tank rental. The use of a dive contractor was recommended due to the vast experience with this type of work. A video record of the condition of the tank prior to and real time as the repairs are accomplished is included in the mobilization charge. The dive contractor is a reasonable priced option. The use of a dive contractor would not require the tank to be off-line and would also save the cost and logistics of providing alternate storage. ACTION NEEDED: The circuit rider program will follow up on the districts decision and offer any assistance if requested. | ||
