Details: | SUMMARY: WTP Rating, CCR Assistance, Chem Schedule Update DETAILS: I spoke with Tom Charbonneau today regarding the log inactivation credit assigned to the current wtp at the City of Siletz. The current US Filter Microfloc plant went on-line in 1999-2000 and includes coagulation (alum, polymer and miox pre-treatment), two upflow clarifiers, rapid sand filtration and miox disinfection followed by soda ash for corrosion control. Tom confirmed that the EPA considers this type of package plant to meet conventional filtration requirements. Therefore, the plant is rated at 2.5 log removal credit for giardia and 2.0 credit for crypto. As such, I updated sdwis to show the 2.5 removal rating, added the quarterly schedule for TOC/Alkalinity monitoring and reduced the DBP schedule from quarterly to annual (per reduction rules and last sanitary survey). In addition, I reviewed their draft 2006 consumer confidence report and approved it with one edit. Allen and I discussed the edit and the changes to the chem schedule. Allen agreed to contract with a lab to comply with the TOC/Alkalinity requirements and will sample for 2007 DBPs this summer. ACTION NEEDED: None. Changes to sdwis were made 4/5/2007. |
