| Details: | SUMMARY: Fire flow drops pressure in small area of the distribution. DETAILS: Todd Simmons called first on 4/21/2007 to report that pressure dropped in a small area of the distribution system around a large industrial fire due to flow used to fight the fire. The fire was located at the Gheen Irrigation Works (PWS #4195134). Todd reported on 4/23/2007 that they used hydraulic modeling to determine where the hazards were due to the pressure drop from 80 psi to 18 psi. EWEB employees collected a total of 8 coliform samples after the fire was contained, all of which were absent. EWEB also flushed the lines in the area. ACTION NEEDED: No further follow-up necessary due to precautions that EWEB personnel took during the event. Positive pressure was maintained and water quality confirmed. No public notice necessary. | ||
