Details: | SUMMARY: Routine taken 3/13/03 +TC DETAILS: I spoke to Barbara Friday morning about the recent routine that was +TC. I asked why they sampled again in the first quarter and she didnt know why-- Coffey just comes up and does it automatically. She said they disinfected the system starting at the wellhead last night. Coffey is coming up next Mon. or Tues. (19th or 20th) to do 4 repeats. We talked a lot about proper sampling locations. I notice in SDWIS that the sample sites are always kitchen and bathroom sinks. I reviewed with her how important it is to use non-swivel faucets and remove aerators/screens if using inside faucets for sampling locations. She said she would review with Jeff Morrison and Culligan and Coffey. Barbara said that the wellhead now has a sample tap, so I asked her to make sure one of the repeats taken next week is from the wellhead. We need to be sure that there really is a coliform problem and not just bad sample sites. She agreed and said they are going forth with the chlorinator anyway to help with mineral issues and the water softener that they are having installed. I emailed her a coliform sampling plan template and asked her to use it and ask Coffey to follow it. NOTE: Barbara mentioned that Culligan has submitted plans finally to DWP for the chlorinator on 3/14/07 (she had the info into Culligan on 2/20-- she doesnt know why it took Culligan so long to submit to the state). ACTION NEEDED: No further action at this time. Barbara will call if any repeats are TC positive and she knows to do 5 temp. routines in April. |
