| Details: | SUMMARY: complaint #2 DETAILS: This person chooses to remain anonymous for fear of making trouble with the water system managers. Her complaint was that occassionally the water has a lot of chlorine in it. Her daughter recently became ill after ingesting the highly chlorinated water. She was curious what else might be in the water. I checked the database, and there have not been detections of other regulated contaminants. I told her about the Administrative Order to filter the water and explained giardia and crypto may not be properly removed using chlorine alone. She said she was not aware of that situation (no public notice?). Regarding the chlorine levels, I explained the MRDL of 4 ppm and suggested that when she suspected that the chlorine level was high, to ask the WS operator to measure the level at her house. ACTION NEEDED: Ensure proper chlorination practices? | ||
