| Details: | SUMMARY: Assistance with determination of system leakage DETAILS: Circuit rider was contacted by the City of Spray to provide assistance with severe leakage in the water system. The City of Spray has recently been reviewing its water leakage rate and determined that it was excessive. The city reported leakage rates of 60 to 80 percent. Circuit rider reviewed water production and use records for the past 3 years. Upon first review, it appeared that the city had periods of unaccounted water rates as high as 90 percent. Further investigation revealed that the city was misreading water meters in the city (reporting usage as 100 cu. yds. Rather than units [100 gallons]). When raw data was adjusted accordingly, the unaccounted water rates fell to less than 10 percent. ACTION NEEDED: None | ||
